Zwetchkenroster - Plum Compote

Ingredients
2lbs Italian Plums
1 cup sugar (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground cloves
3/4 cup water
1 tablespoon cornflour
Method
Wash plums, remove pit, put in a saucepan. Sprinkle with sugar, add water, cinnamon and cloves. Cover and simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes until plums are soft, but still hold their shape. Dissolve cornflour in a spoonful of cold water, add to the plums, mix and simmer for 2 or 3 minutes until juice has thickened.
Serve with Kaiserchmarren.
